Hang Yu
Hang was born in Fuzhou and grew up across Nanjing, Beijing, and Xi'an — an upbringing that gave him an early eye for the many layers of Chinese society.
He studied Film Studies and Economics at Wesleyan University. His short film Journey Home (2021) won Best First-time Filmmaker at the Tokyo International Short Film Festival, and was shortlisted at the Jaipur International and Tokyo Lift-off Film Festivals.
Since 2022, he has built an audience of 70,000+ on Rednote and Bilibili, working with brands including Starbucks, Beats, and Corneliani, while exploring AI-native short film as a new form.
Hang was previously in TMT investment banking at Credit Suisse and Investor Relations at Bilibili. He is now pursuing an MBA at the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
